Our Beginning

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  That is ten words in English and seven words in Hebrew.  Seven in the number of perfection or completion.  Ten is the number of the Gentiles. Just to give you some proof of that, there are ten generations between Adam and the flood and of course there were no Jews before the flood so they are all categorized as Gentiles. 

There are ten plaques on Egypt.  There are ten Canaanite nations, Gen. 15:18, even though it mentions 7 of them in in the books of Exodus and Deuteronomy.  There were ten prophecies from Jeremiah against the gentiles.  There were 10 burdens from Isaiah aimed at the nations.  The number 10 has to do with the Gentiles.  The number 7 has to do with perfection.  The Word of God is perfect and it goes out to all the Gentiles, eventually; it took it 4,000 years but, eventually it did.

If you ever get a chance to study numerics or numbers of the Bible I would highly recommend it. It is an amazing study.  The Word of God is a mathematical marvel.  Every verse in the Bible, in both Hebrew and Greek, is based on numerics.  Every word has a numeric value.  Hebrew and Greek do not have numerals like in English.

Numeric Value

The letters of their alphabet each have a numeric value and if they want to write a number, they just write out a series of letters just like Latin.  Therefore, every word has a value.  Each letter has a numeric value therefore; every verse will have a value.  Every chapter will have a value and it will just boggle your mind to study through it.

A Russian wrote a book on the numerics of the Bible and throughout the course of his study, he wrote over 45,000 pages documenting different verses and chapters.  Now we just read chapter 1 verse 1, and let’s take a look at those seven Hebrew words in light of their numerical value.  I’d like to give you a synopsis or overview of what I am talking about.  3

Here is that same verse written in Hebrew.  Those of us who only know English would have a very difficult time reading this.  First of all you don’ read Hebrew from left to right as you do in English, but you read it from right to left. 

Now think about this.  Written in English it has 10 words.  And in English it is given to the gentiles.  In Hebrew it is 7 words, meaning the foundation of God’s Word, and it can mean perfect or complete, which the Word of God is.  In Hebrew the number 4 means creation.  These words you are looking at in the Hebrew have 28 letters, or 4×7, at creation it was the foundation. 

Philosophies and Religions

Now let’s look a while at different philosophies and religions.  The reason that we want to do that is because it will help us understand how many of these false beliefs came about in our witnessing, and it will help us to show others how God’s Word can disprove or refute a false belief.  We have to know how to stand against false beliefs in order to be a better witness.  It is all for God’s glory and the up building of His kingdom.

Did you know that Gen. 1:1 shoots down all the major philosophies and religions of humanity?  I am going to give those to you and I want you to know them.  There are 8 major philosophies and religions of man.  They are all refuted by the very first verse in the Bible.  If you had no Bible, but had Genesis 1:1, you could obliterate all man-made religions and man-made philosophies on the spot. 

God gives us a warning and that is why we need to know these things.  Look at Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil (now spoil is used in the sense of a military term, you get conquered and the enemy takes your possessions) you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.  

Atheism.  It says ‘in the beginning God’, this denies Atheism.  If there is a God, then, there is no such thing as atheism in spite of the fact that much of the world’s population calls themselves atheists.  All of Russia claims to be atheist and a lot of Americans claim to be atheist.  The act that the Bible says, ‘God’ immediately washes out atheism.

Multi gods

Tit 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.  Mat 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

If we have repented of our sins and come to know the Lord as our Savior, we know there is a God then we ought to live like it and we ought to act like it instead of acting atheistic a lot of times. 

Polytheism.  The word God is singular so that denies Polytheism.  Polytheism means multi-gods.  What does that do away with?  It does away with the following:

All mythology including Greek, Roman, and Egyptian.  All eastern religions including Hinduism – (belief in many gods and when you die you might turn into a Cow), Brahmanism – (first used in 1816, orthodox Hinduism adhering to the pantheism of the Vedas and to the ancient sacrifices and family ceremonies) simplified – everything is God, Zen Buddhism – (Zen means meditation, started in China 15 centuries ago, 9.6 million in Japan today, everyone has the Budda nature but has clouded ignorance.)

These things have multi-gods.  It also does away with Roman Catholicism.  Anybody you can pray to, and can answer you prayers is a god.  So, whenever people are doing your Hail Mary’s and prayers to Saint Jude, those are gods.  

Evolution

Evolution.  God ‘created’ which denies Evolution, which is a religion.   It denies evolution.  The Bible says everything brings forth after its kind.  There are two kinds of evolution:

Secular evolution – which is what is taught in the public schools and science books, and is Darwin’s theory, which eliminates God entirely.

Theistic evolution – which is the same thing but is accepted by Christians. Christians modify it simply by God created an ‘amoeba’ or single cell and put everything in it that it needed to mutate and divide and become man.  Well, if He did that are we the stopping point?  Isn’t there something beyond us?  Well, that is called theistic evolution and of course it is heresy.

There is no evolution at all.  There was no evolution at the first birth and there is no evolution at the second birth.  You didn’t get here by a process of steps upward, physically, nor do you get into God’s Kingdom by a process of stepping upward spiritually.  It is instantaneous after its kind and it is not a process at all.  So the new creation is not evolutionary any more than the first creation was.  Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Pantheism

Pantheism.  It says in the Bible ‘God created heaven and earth’.  This denies Pantheism.  Pantheism is the belief that God and creation are the same.  God is the creation, consequently, you are God, and the chair you are sitting on is God.  The table you are at is God.  God and His creation are the same.  This is also found in what is called Christian Science, founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1866.

It is also found in a religious organization called ‘Unity’, founded in 1889 by Charles Fillmore, which teaches that you don’t look at sin, but you only look for the good in people.  They teach that each person is sacred and each person is worthy.  They teach that through self, self-consciousness you can reach the highest level. 

The bible does not teach this.  We were born with a sin nature and we are as filthy rags apart from Christ.     

And then Brahmanism which is orthodox Hinduism established in 1816.

I want you to notice something from Genesis 1:1: the fact that it says ‘God created the heaven and the earth’, proves that God is separate from His creation and not part of it all.  He is entirely separate from it.  There is no such thing as a spark of divinity in the creation.  These beliefs say that ‘There is good in every man, there is a spark of divinity in every person.’  That is not true at all.  So, the universe is not God, in fact God says, ‘I fill heaven and earth.’

The Overall Picture

The reason I am sharing these things with you is because I want you to see the overall picture of how humanity lines up with the things of God and how over time man has corrupted God’s Word.  Man has always since the time of Adam and Eve, corrupted through sin what God created. 

Now let’s look at the philosophy of materialism or the eternity of matter.  It is amazing how many ways that mankind can distort and warp the scriptures.  I even found that on a local level in the soul-winning booth.  People come to me with their own man-made beliefs and doctrines, some of which I have no idea where they got their information to begin with. 

This is the reason you have heard me in times past say how important it is to stay in the Authorized King James Bible and don’t deviate into some other word or Bible that has been added to or taken away from.  If we stick with the truth we won’t go wrong.

False Doctrines

If you notice there was a time frame there where many of these false doctrines and beliefs came from, in the 1800’s.  Many people either followed the wrong line of text, or they simply added their personal beliefs to suit their lifestyle.  The day we’re living in, especially within the church, people still try that.  They have a desire to satisfy their own flesh, they have a desire to try to mold the church to try and fit their lifestyle. 

This study we will be going through is an extensive study of Creation and that takes time.  Why?  Because we need to see and understand all these different beliefs, and then see what the truth says, and it will help us see the importance of God’s Word, which can strengthen our foundation and help us to be the kind of church God wants us to be.  Too many churches across this nation have a form and a fashion of entertainment and social club meetings, and have strayed from the fundamentals of the faith.  We need a thorough understanding of God’s Word.  And the only way we can do that is to be here and here the Word.

Now, back to the lesson on the philosophy of materialism and or the eternity of matter.  The bible says ‘In the beginning’ which denies all of that.  This is the false belief here: ‘Things have continued as they were since the fathers fell asleep’, and I’ll show you where that come from later, or ‘whatever is always has been.’  There are several of these theories found in science books.

Materialism

Eternity of Matter, which is called materialism (Gen 1:1 denies this)

The Greek philosophers taught that matter was eternal it had always been there.

Now for some Biblical truth.  14 –  2Pe 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

Not only do they not continue as they were, but the day is coming when they will all melt with fervent heat.  Only God was in the beginning and in the beginning God. 

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  1Jo 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

It is talking about Jesus, from the beginning.
