The Bible and Science Reality
The Bible is not a science textbook, so to speak, but it is 100% accurate when it makes a scientific statement. Understanding this will help you in defending the Bible when you encounter scientific questions. The King James Bible is 100% accurate every time it makes a scientific statement, or any kind of statement for that matter.
Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Science falsely so called – they are calling it science but that is not what it is. The Bible contains scores of scientific statements. The word ‘science’ here comes from the same word as the word ‘knowledge.’ From ‘oppositions’ we get the English word antithesis, an opposite argument, and a rebuttal of some sort.
Carbon Dating
For instance, a few years ago they tested a live shellfish with carbon 14 testing and it dated 3,000 years old. Obviously, this was a lie. You know there is no such thing as a 3,000 year old shellfish. That shows the fallacy of carbon 14 dating. 6 – Carbon Dating might be wrong by 10,000 years.
Paleontology is the study of cave men, evolution, and dinosaurs. For your information, dinosaurs are real – Job saw them – and they are contemporary with mankind (or were until they became extinct).

Dinosaurs
What is the Biblical answer to how dinosaurs died out? A reptile will continue to grow as long as it lives. It is just a characteristic of reptiles. That is why there are snakes that are 40 and 50 feet long. Tortoises can weigh 500 and 600 pounds, and are 400 -500 years old.
If you took a common fence lizard, living in the ideal environment as before the flood when men lived 900 years, it would become a tyrannosaurus rex or brontosaurus or some other type of dinosaur because of its life span. After the flood the life span was changed for all creatures. Now they die out too early to grow to those kind of sizes. It is not because they mammals came on the scene and ate all the eggs of the dinosaurs. If that were true there would be no more crocodiles or anything else. All of the eggs would be gone.
Science Facts
Fossilized amber that contained oxygen bubbles were tested that existed pre flood and it contained 50% more oxygen than what we have today. The earth pre flood was a perfect environment where animals could grow much larger, and live much longer than they do now. It is believed that the reduction of oxygen in the atmosphere after the flood could have taken out the dinosaurs.
There has been a multitude of scientific theories disproved.
It was scientifically accepted 500 years ago that the earth was flat. We know today that the earth is round. The Bible knew it was round before mankind did. Isa 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth,
Heaven Cannot Be Measured
The implication is that the heavens cannot be measured. If it could then he would be through with the nation of Israel. Now that was written before 600 BC. God wrote in His Book by implication that you cannot measure the universe. That implies, anything that is a constant can be measured because it is expanding. 16 – In 1925 science finally caught up with the Bible in the form of an astronomer by the name of EP Hubble, who put forth the expanding universe theory. The Bible says that God spreads out the heavens: 17 – Job 9:8 Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.
So the universe is huge; whether it is 16 light years or 10 billion does not make any difference.
Milky Way
Now here is the Milky Way Galaxy. Think about an area just the size of the big dipper. 21 – In an area the size of the big dipper they say there are 2,500 galaxies. 22 – If that is the case and there 100 billion stars in just one galaxy, you are talking 250 trillion stars in that one little piece of the sky. Is that not what it says? He says they cannot be numbered. You cannot number the stars. I’d say the heavens declare the glory of God, wouldn’t you? I mean just thousands of galaxies and billions and trillions of stars. So, the very number of stars shows the glory of God and shows His might and power.
Isa 40:12 who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
Endless Stars
What we are talking about here, who knows, are trillions and trillions and God has got a name for every one of them. He must have some kind of vocabulary. Now there are about a hundred names of stars that are still around from ancient times. The Bible names several of them but most of the names of stars are modern names. Talk about having a reason to worship somebody. Not one faileth – not one of them is missing.
Astronomy is gradually catching up with the Bible and seeing the truth of these things. Psa 147:4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names. Psa 8:1 O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. The heavens declare the glory of God. He says you are excellent, you set your glory above the heavens. Psa 8:3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
Recognizing Creation
That is a good question. Sometimes when we are travelling we have to drive at night, and my wife and I will split driving. Sometimes when she drives I’ll just lean my head over against the window on a clear night and look at the stars. Man, it just never ceases to amaze me. What are we? We are just a puny dot of corruption in the backside of the universe somewhere. How many stars are there? There are more than we can count.
Another area of scientific study with the astronomers is whether or not stars emit sound? Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? I know we take that verse figuratively.
